Core Installation Steps
Specifically clean the injector seat and the side-feed fuel gallery in the cylinder head. For heavy-duty engines like WP10/12, any debris in the side-inlet port will cause instant nozzle blockage.
Use only the specific heavy-duty thick copper washer. Ensure the curved side faces the correct direction as per Weichai specs. Apply high-temperature grease to the injector body to prevent "seizing" due to high engine heat.
Carefully align the injector's side-inlet port with the fuel connector (high-pressure pipe) before tightening the clamp. If misaligned, the fuel connector will fail to seal, causing internal fuel-to-oil dilution.
Tighten the hold-down clamp bolt in two stages: first to a seating torque, then to the final specified torque (e.g., 50Nm + 90° or as specified). This ensures the injector sits perfectly flat against the combustion seal.
Due to the large fuel volume in WP12 rails, use the hand primer pump until the fuel flow is steady and bubble-free. Open the bleed screw on the fuel filter housing to ensure no air remains in the low-pressure side.
Secure the electrical harness to prevent vibration-induced chafing, which is common in heavy-duty engines. Enter the IMA/QR code into the ECU to calibrate the fuel delivery for each cylinder.
