Clean the injector bore/well in the cylinder head thoroughly using a specialized seat cleaner. Remove all carbon buildup, rust, and old debris. A clean seat prevents combustion gas leakage.
Always discard the used washer and install a brand new copper sealing washer and O-ring onto the injector. Apply a very thin layer of clean engine oil or assembly grease to the O-ring to aid smooth insertion.
Carefully lower the injector straight into the bore. Align it correctly with the fuel inlet position. Gently press it down; never strike the injector body or nozzle with a hammer.
Install the injector hold-down clamp and bolt. Torque the bolt to the vehicle's factory specifications using a torque wrench. Even tightening is critical to prevent the injector body from distorting.
Remove the protective caps and connect the high-pressure fuel supply line and the fuel return (leak-off) line. Hand-tighten the nuts first, then tighten them to the specified torque using a torque wrench flare nut adapter.
Connect the electrical harness plug. Note the 7-digit IMA code laser-printed on the injector's plastic top. Use a diagnostic scan tool to program this code into the engine ECU for proper injection calibration.
