CRITICAL: Work in a dust-free environment. High pressure—let engine cool down completely before starting.
Prep & Clean: Disconnect the battery. Clean all dirt away from the pump area.
Disconnect: Remove the timing cover/gear access. Unplug the SCV connector. Remove the high/low-pressure fuel lines and cap ports immediately to block dust.
Remove & Replace: Unbolt and remove the old pump. Lubricate the new pump's O-ring with clean engine oil, align the shaft keyway, and mount the new pump.
Torque & Reconnect: Tighten all mounting bolts and the drive gear nut to factory torque specs. Reattach all fuel lines and electrical plugs.
Prime & Start: Use the fuel filter hand primer to bleed air out of the system. Do not crank dry. Start the engine, idle, and check thoroughly for leaks.
