Warning: High-pressure system. Ensure the engine is off and completely depressurized. Cleanliness is critical—keep all tools and the workspace 100% free of dirt.
Step 1: Set Timing Rotate the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) on cylinder #1 and align the timing marks.
Step 2: Mount Pump Lubricate the pump O-ring with clean engine oil. Mesh the pump drive gear with the engine gear, insert the pump, and tighten mounting bolts to factory torque spec.
Step 3: Connect Lines & Sensors Remove protective caps. Connect the high-pressure line, low-pressure lines, and plug in the Suction Control Valve (SCV) harness connector.
Step 4: Prime Fuel System Use the vehicle's hand primer pump on the fuel filter assembly until it feels firm to bleed out all air. Do not dry-crank the engine.
Step 5: Test Run Start the engine and let it idle. Check the pump and all lines carefully for high-pressure fuel leaks.
