⚠️ CRITICAL NOTE: Cleanliness is everything. Contamination (dirt/metal shavings) will instantly destroy a new common rail pump.
Flush the System: If the old pump produced metal shavings, you must drain and flush the fuel tank and all lines.
Replace Filters: Always install a brand-new fuel filter.
Disconnect: Disconnect the battery, fuel lines, and electrical connectors. Cap open lines to keep dirt out.
Timing & Removal: Set the engine to the specified timing position, then remove the old pump using a gear puller.
Prep New Pump: Lubricate the new O-ring with clean engine oil. Keep plastic protective caps on the ports until connection.
Mount: Align the shaft/timing marks, seat the pump, and torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
Reconnect: Reinstall lines (new high-pressure lines recommended) and plug in the SCV connector.
Bleed Air: Do not dry-crank. Use the hand primer to pump fuel until all air is bled from the system.
Check for Leaks: Start the engine, let it idle, and inspect all connections immediately for leaks.
