Cleanliness: Clean the engine block and lines thoroughly. Dirt will destroy the pump.
Engine Timing: Rotate the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) on cylinder No. 1's compression stroke. Ensure all timing marks align.
O-Ring: Install a new flange O-ring and lubricate it with clean engine oil.
Mounting: Align the pump shaft/gear with the engine drive gear. Slide the pump smoothly into place.
Torque: Tighten the mounting bolts evenly, then torque the drive gear nut to specification using a holding tool.
Fuel Lines: Reconnect high-pressure and low-pressure lines. Use new crush washers. Thread by hand first to prevent cross-threading.
Electrical: Plug in the Suction Control Valve (SCV) and sensor connectors securely.
Bleed System: Use the manual primer pump until the bulb/handle becomes firm. Do not dry-crank the engine.
Start: Idle the engine and inspect all joints for leaks.
ECU: Clear old fault codes and perform an SCV/Pump learning reset via a diagnostic scanner.
