WARNING: High-pressure system. Wait 15 minutes after engine shutdown before opening any fuel lines.
Clean: Wash the engine bay around the pump area. Dirt will ruin common rail systems.
Disconnect: Turn off ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Unplug: Label and disconnect the Suction Control Valve (SCV) plug, sensors, and fuel lines. Cap all open ports immediately.
Timing: Set the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) alignment specs.
Remove: Unbolt the drive gear and remove the old pump from the housing.
New Seals: Replace the flange O-ring. Lubricate it with clean engine oil.
Align: Match the timing marks on the pump drive gear with the engine timing gear.
Mount: Insert the pump. Cross-torque all mounting bolts and the drive gear nut to factory specifications.
Lines: Reconnect low-pressure hoses and high-pressure pipes. Tighten flare nuts with a torque wrench.
Wiring: Replug the SCV and sensor connectors securely.
Bleed Air: Pump the manual fuel primer on the filter assembly until it is firm. Do not dry-crank.
Power: Reconnect the battery.
Start: Crank the engine and let it idle.
Inspect: Check all connections thoroughly for fuel leaks or mist.
