When testing fuel injectors on a test bench to determine whether they are Good or Bad, international standards (such as ISO 8984) rely on the following engineering criteria:

| Sealing | Seat Leakage / Static Tightness | The injector tip and body must hold a specific pressure for a designated time without any fuel seepage, weeping, or dripping. |
