 Installation & Maintenance Manual


1. Pre-Installation Readiness

  • Maintain Absolute Cleanliness

    • EN: Diesel common rail systems have extremely tight tolerances. Ensure the work environment is dust-free. Do not remove the protective plastic caps from the fuel inlets/outlets until the exact moment of connecting the fuel lines.


  • Inspect the Fuel System

    • EN: Flush the fuel tank and lines. Always replace the fuel filter with a brand-new, high-quality filter before installing the new pump to prevent premature contamination failure.


2. Step-by-Step Installation Sequence


1.Engine Timing Alignment:Critical Step.

Rotate the engine crankshaft to locate Top Dead Center (TDC) for Cylinder 1. Align the timing marks on the engine gear train before installing the pump drive gear. Failure to align timing can cause catastrophic engine damage or a no-start condition.


2.Mounting and Torquing:Mechanical Fixation.

Position the fuel pump onto the engine mounting flange. Install and hand-tighten the mounting bolts, then use a torque wrench to tighten them crosswise to the manufacturer's specified torque matrix.


3.Connecting Lines:High & Low Pressure Lines.

Connect the low-pressure fuel supply inlet line, fuel return line, and the high-pressure steel delivery rail line. Ensure all fittings are threaded cleanly by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to standard specifications.


4.Electrical Wiring:Sensors & Valves.

Plug in the electrical connector to the Suction Control Valve (SCV) and the Fuel Temperature Sensor (if equipped). Make sure the locking tabs click firmly into place.



3. System Bleeding & First Start

  • Bleeding / Priming the Fuel System

    • EN: Do not crank the engine dry. Use the fuel hand primer pump (usually located on the fuel filter base) to pump fuel until the low-pressure lines are completely full of diesel and free of air bubbles.


  • Initial Crank

    • EN: Crank the engine for no more than 10-15 seconds at a time. Once started, let the engine idle smoothly. Check all high-pressure line joints immediately for leaks using a piece of cardboard (never use your hands, as high-pressure diesel injection can pierce skin).


4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting FAQ

Q: What is the most common part that fails on this pump?

A: The Suction Control Valve (SCV). If the vehicle experiences an unstable idle, lack of power, or unstable rail pressure fault codes, replacing the SCV is usually the first repair step.


Q: What is the main enemy of this high-pressure pump?

A: Water contamination and poor-quality fuel. Water destroys the internal fuel lubrication properties, causing the pump plungers and eccentric cams to lock up (seize).
